Udon Thani is a prime business center of the northeastern region of Thailand. It is situated 564km from Bangkok and is the world heritage site of Ban Chiang's prehistoric culture. The capital, Udon Thani, is one of the four main cities of Isan and the majoy transport, commerce as well as communication of northeastern Isan.

Udon Thani was once a wealth community dating back to pre-historic period. It used to be the main USAF airbase in the Vietnam War and be the main agricultural area of the country. It is world famous for the archaeological sites which are some interesting Buddhist temples and monuments as Nong Prachak, Phra Phutthabat shrine, Ban Chiang National Museum, etc. The province lies on a plateau covered with forests, hills mountain ranges and rice field, offers beautiful natural attractions in Nong Pua Park, Phu Loi Lom Eco-Park, Phu Phrabat National park, and Udon Sunshine Orchid Farm with variety of orchids, etc. In addition, Ban Nakhan village offers many traditional home-woven silk and cotton garments for you to go shopping. This land is known for the festivals aiming to enhance local products as Phra Phutthabat Bua Bok Worship Fair and Thung Si Mueang Udon Thani and Mi-khit Cloth Fair with many goods as silk cloth, hand-woven cloth, Khit-pattern woven, Mi-khit cloth are for sale.
